I didn't catch this earlier when you noted that your most recent fic referenced this one, so I had to go hunting. And I'm certainly glad I did! A very fun ride, watching Neal tease Peter and send all the gifts, and watch Peter grudgingly come to realize that Neal wasn't violent and really wasn't that bad of a guy. Just annoying. ;-) I loved how he just sighed and enjoyed the fruit basket. Not to mention, loved how even Peter got angry about the police arresting Neal and hurting him.
But what I think I love the most is just the great characterization and watching the growth between the two. The first name basis and the caring despite the situation.
