Anyway...no, I haven't read those cartoons - I'll have to check them out, and I guess "maybe" regarding my cat. He is a shelter cat, and they suspected he was a Russian Blue. I'm confident that he's got at least some Russian Blue in him - he's got the grey coat, the green eyes, and the pinkish/purplish footpads - but he's listed as just a domestic shorthair.
